Sedation

The majority of endodontic procedures can be done painlessly and with local anesthetics only.  If, however, a patient is particularly anxious about the procedure, Dr. Wright is certified by the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners to provide anxiolysis for his patients.  Anxiolysis is a minimal form of sedation provided either by taking a single dose of a sedative (in pill form) or by the use of Nitrous Oxide, but not both, to help relax the patient and tolerate the procedure more easily.

For those patients who feel that they may need IV sedation, Dr. Wright can schedule a Dental Anesthesiologist to be present to perform the IV sedation while Dr. Wright performs the endodontic procedure.
